As a 15-year veteran of broadcasting and award-winning journalist I’ve learned a lot about the media industry. Over the years, things have shifted and changed with the addition of social media. I used to get funny looks in the newsroom when I talked about Facebook and Instagram, but when we started Hawaii News Now’s Facebook page, the head of marketing came to me asking for help sending fans their way (they now have more than 1 million followers).

I have served as a social media consultant for the Maui Food Bank, TS Restaurants,
Maui Video & Marketing, and large media companies in Hawaiʻi including
Pacific Media Group and KITV4 Island News.

I enjoy leading workshops on the topic and teaching others the skills they need to succeed.

People constantly ask me how to get on the news, how to present themselves, how to prepare for a media interview, how the equipment works, how to develop their story, etc… I can help you with that - because it’s my job! I have insider knowledge that I’m happy to share.

Pageant Interview Training

As a former state pageant titleholder, I learned the ins and outs of preparing for, competing for, and being a titleholder. I was also a former public speaking teacher at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and continue to hone my craft. Most recently, I auditioned for and was awarded the coveted honor of representing the Class of 2021 as their Student Speaker.

With more than a decade of experience in media and having conducted hundreds of interviews
over the years, you can count on me for practical advice and guidance when it comes to
the interview phase of competition. I’m currently working to prepare our state
titleholders for their national pageants.

Public Speaking Coaching

This is a new offering that came at the request of a client. I’m open to discussing your goals and developing a series of coaching sessions to cater to your public speaking ambitions and needs.

I work with all ages. Children are welcome.
